Aunty Kaka Foundation is an NGO advocating for children with special needs — providing specialized education, therapy access, and parent support. The brief called for something warm and emotionally resonant, without tipping into the kind of heavy-handed sentimentality that often flattens NGO sites into something forgettable.

The defining visual decision was the grain and gradient treatment layered over photography throughout the site. These weren't CSS filters applied at the browser level — they were designed deliberately in design software, composited directly onto the image assets, giving the site a textural depth and warmth that a stylesheet alone can't replicate. The effect ties the photography together into a cohesive visual language and gives the site an identity distinct from generic nonprofit templates.

The build itself is a static site with no framework — the right call for a small NGO that needs something fast-loading, low-maintenance, and easy to hand off without ongoing technical overhead.

Sometimes the most considered decision is choosing not to reach for more stack than the brief requires. Here, the design craft carried the weight, and the delivery matched the client's actual needs.
