Scope: Web app with PWA support, end-to-end
Purse came from a simple observation: most people manage shared money through trust and WhatsApp messages. That works until it doesn't. Purse gives groups a proper structure for pooling, planning, and paying out money toward a shared goal, without anyone needing to chase anyone else for updates.
The core mechanic is the Group Purse: a shared pot tied to a specific goal, with staged budget checkpoints that lock and release funds only when conditions are met. Contributors, managers, and recipients each get distinct roles and access levels. Every transaction is logged and visible to the right people.
Payments are powered by 100Pay, handling deposits and withdrawals across the platform. Authentication was a deliberate product decision: Purse uses magic links, OTP, and passkeys, so there are no passwords to forget or reset. Sign-in is fast, secure, and frictionless across devices.
The app is built as a PWA, making it installable on any device without an App Store. For a financial product targeting individuals and groups across borders, that accessibility matters.
Like Bucket, Purse is a product I built for myself as much as for anyone else, and it shows in the depth of the details.
